Lived the food! Had prime rib, twice baked potato, salad and warm bread. The meat was cooked exactly as I like and was so tender and juicy. The potato was a little dry, but had good flavor. I probably will choose a different side next time...because there WILL be a next time, for sure! The service was the best I have seen in this town so far. The food arrived fast, the staff was attentive, and they weren't standing around doing nothing. They were constantly in motion.

Surprised to find such good quality food in havasu. We will be back for more surf and turf and Mahi mahi.

I tried to book an event here and either the event manager isn't "IN" or he is in a meeting. He did return my call one time and within two minutes I called back and he wasn't available again. I tried for three days and only one call to me in that time. Can you imagine if I had booked my event there, they must not need the business!!

The steak and seafood were MUCH better than I expected and the prices were great. I was shocked when the bill came. I was expecting twice as much with the drinks, appetizers, and entrees that we ordered. We had a mixed group of 10 people (2 kids) and everyone was very impressed and half of us were foodies from Los Angeles. The kids mac and cheese was some of the best that I have ever tasted. All of the steaks were great and the pretzel encrusted pork chop was really unique and spectacular. If this restaurant was near my house I would eat there weekly.

Sorry to say they are out of Prime Rib at 8pm not good!! Less come together right now!!! This is the reason that I come here.

Ordered the artichoke crab dip and it was pretty tasty. Had a side Caesars salad and the pepper was a little too strong. On the other hand, the Blue Crab stuffed prawns were A M A Z I N G The flavor is everything, just enough garlic, Parmesan, lemon, crab everything!

After 7 hours on the motorcycle we pulled in to Lake Havasu. Well we wanted a good steak and a few drinks. This was the only place in walking distance to the Heat Hotel. The food was average, and the service left something to be desired. The atmosphere was dark and very 70's looking. We ate and headed to the hotel for some overdue sleep. The meal wasn't really memorable.

when we came in we have waited at least 15 minutes to be seated. The staff noticed our presence several times but couldn't even greet us! We want away to a restaurant on the other side of the street. Bad service!

In town for a wedding and met up here with 15 people. Many positive aspects to the meal. The service was excellent and we had even asked for split checks. We had a variety of appetizers: hummus, crab cakes, crab and artichoke dip, French onion soup etc. We all shared and they were delicious. Salads and soups were good and came with baskets of bread with garlic butter. Yum. I had the petite filet and cut it with a table knife. Tender and well seasoned. My son had torrnados Oscar and raved. My daughter in law had eggplant Parmesan and said it was delicious. Others at the table had crab legs, steaks, salads, etc and everyone was raving. Loved the meal, service and restaurant. Only regret is that we were all too full for dessert. Highly recommend this spot. We will go again tomorrow. Best meal we have had in Havasu.

Food was great but we'll try hard never to go back on a weekend - just too many people, making it almost impossible to have a conversation. I think, on a weekday, it would be a delightful place to dine......

It might have been cold and rainy outside, but it was bright and cheery on the inside. Our server Jake was terrific. Told him our little one was cranky from not eating (it was close to 8 when we pulled in from Los Angeles) and he rushed his mac and cheese right over. Definitely ask for him if you can. I also want to commend our hostess Kristina. Never have I had anyone offer to watch our son while we ate. He was too busy with his mac and cheese to take her up on the offer, but later did let her pick him up to look at the fish. Thank you again Kristina! You and Jake rock! Oh, prime rib and rack of lamb highly recommended! Two thumbs up!

I had a lovely lunch at the bar last week.... very tasty French dip with a glass of Santa Marguerita pino gris. The Bartender, Stacy, is a gem. I will return.... maybe even today.

Unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy a window seat looking at the beautiful London Bridge, but the ambiance inside was very nice. Good food, a little overpriced in my opinion. I will say though, the best part of the experience was seeing they had Banana's Foster on their desert menu. Rarely do I find a restaraunt who offers this awesome table side treat. And yes, it was well worth a full meal entree price! I would not hesitate going back again while visiting Lake Havasu, but would really want the brifdge view to enhance the overall experience even more.

Overall fantastic! Bartenders Joe and Mel were awesome. Practically met my twin there, Jacob. Seriously we looked pretty similar. If you're thinking about going here, do it, it's a very friendly atmosphere. If you run into anyone I have mentioned here, tell them Kyle says hi. And thanks for a great time guys!!

Just came back from a fellas weekend in havasu. One of the highlights of our trip was to have a good steak dinner while in town. We came her based on the high reviews. Apparently all the reviewers have never had a good steak dinner before. Ive dined at mastros, flemings and other steakhouses. This place doesnt come close. I ordered the new york strip medium. The steak had an awful flavor, i had to ask for steak sauce even that did no good. It was a poor quality steak every bite had thick pieces of fat. It was served with a salad and choice of potatoes. The sides were neither good or bad, how can u mess up a garden salad anyways. I ate what I can cut around the fat of my steak, should have gone to in n out instead. My buddy chose the ribeye. He took one bite and could not eat the rest. He said it was too chewy and had lots of fat. Every bite had grizzle coming out. He finished his salad and potatoe. Only edible thing he could eat. He asked for a doggy bag and gave the steak to our taxi driver hopefully she didn't get sick. Finally, my other buddy ordered the filet and lobster. He seemed to enjoy his meal. The filet was cooked to his liking and enjoyed the lobster as well. The waitress tried to have us all order the filet and lobster, however, not all of us are lobster fans. My buddy soon regretted his choice when he found out his meal was $70. In his words no way not worth it. It was ok but not 70 dollars ok. We also tried the crab artichoke dip. This was really disgusting. Honestly, tasted like when u regurgitate your food when u throw up. Don't do it yelpers. The waitress was somewhat attentive forgot my steak sauce had to flag down another waitress. The ambiance is ok u get a river view we dined at night you cant really see anything outside ; windows r tinted the lighting is so dim inside we had to use our iPhones to see the menu. Maybe its easier to hide their prices this way. Our meal ballooned over 195 for 3 of us. Definitely not worth it. Save yourself some grief dine at one of the chain restaurants at least you know what your paying for. Haven't really found a good one in Havasu yet.

Ohhhh Shagrus what has happen to you? You have run your coarse. You have become mediocre. It's been at least 8 yrs since we were regulars and you were good. So sad, we Will miss you but I hear cha bones is good. Your service is slow your food is average at best. You drown your meat in sauce as if you are trying to hide it. You couldn't get a simple drink order right. Your view is all you have left. The locals have left you, they say you "suck". So sad, so sad.

Nothing here would make us come back, deco is dated, staff is off their game and the food, ehhhh. Havasu is desperate for ambiance, good beer selection and food that isn't average. Next time we are in town, we will stay in and BBQ at home.

I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and I have to say that it has the most beautiful view of London Bridge at night. It is amazingly gorgeous and breathtaking. I love the environment there. Their cajun cream shrimp is to die for! My boyfriend could not stop raving about it! Their bread with the cheese butter is also amazingly yummy! It was definitely worth it and I will most definitely be recommending it to others.

Stopped in for lunch while we were on a scenic drive. We were seated right away. All staffed seemed friendly. I ordered a lemonade and 1/2 sandwich/cup of soup combo. A BLT & French Onion Soup. The lemonade tasted slightly weak but it came with a slice of lemon on the edge of the glass. I squeezed the juice into my drink from the lemon slice and it tasted fine. The soup was slightly thick...enough that I didn't eat all of it. The BLT was good. We had a great view of the bridge. Would consider returning if I'm ever in the area again!

This place is probably the nicest restaurant in havasu. My friends and I came here to celebrate some birthdays. We made an 8:30 reservations and didn't get seating till 9:00. It was a busy Saturday night so they get a break there. We had a really nice server. I can't remember his name but he looked like a young Tom Hanks. We started off with a salad, French onion soup, and escargot. All three were delicious. I had the rib eye, and my husband has the steak & lobster as out entree. Overall we had a great time and a dinner well worth the extra 30min wait. I would definitely come here again the next time I'm in havasu.

Food was awesome, nice atmosphere and view, server was friendly. They didn't honor my dad's coupon properly (the coupon was for 1/2 off on an entree and they took it off of the kids meal. It would only have been a couple dollars extra off of the ticket, so it was pretty petty on their part to not apply it properly.), someone in our group ordered Monte Cristo and they served it with packaged honey and jam (that was a bit tacky).

My favorite restaurant for a nice dinner. The service is superb. The libations are poured with a weak wrist. The food is great. The ambiance, window-side, is perfection. Don't miss this fine dining while in Lake Havasu City.

Closing out 2012, and my 350th Yelp review, with a superior restaurant, I will describe my meal yesterday at Shugrue's overlooking the London Bridge. The ambiance was dark but rather cool with a night window view from our seats of the London Bridge, which was specially decked out in holiday light decorations both on the roadway on top and on the stony side. After making a 7:45 p.m. dinner reservation just before leaving from southern California for Lake Havasu City, hours later I realized that there might be a time difference between California and Arizona, which indeed there was. So, I called the restaurant to change our reservation to 8:45 p.m. Arizona time. Diane and I then arrived one minute beyond the agreed time after a 4-hour drive. But the original error on my part somewhat screwed up an otherwise great meal, because we were the last party seated, and the last to leave--dealing with a kitchen crew that was ready to close the kitchen and go home as soon as they possibly could. So, while the food was uniformly excellent, we were rushed unmercifully through our meals. Before finishing a really tasty and meaty Shrimp Cocktail, both French Onion Soup and Spinach Salad were brought to our table for me to quickly consume. And after I polished off the soup more swiftly than I would have liked, and was just beginning to attack the salad, out came our ordered entrees. I complained to our server about being unduly rushed, and he apologized and took 10% off the bill as a result, but this really should not have happened. It caused us to gobble down $70 worth of food in 1 hour to avoid it turning cold. Thus, a half-star was needlessly lost for one of the best meals I have experienced at a restaurant in 2012. Warm freshly baked and doughy bread was excellent with Garlic Butter. The hot French Onion Soup was delicious with a chewy crown of Gruyere Cheese, tasty beef broth, and well-caramelized onions. And the Spinach Salad with Hot Bacon Dressing was teeming with cut up hard-boiled egg whites and bacon for just a slight up-charge over an included garden salad. Tournedos Oscar on toast points were prepared medium rare as ordered, with a smooth Bearnaise Sauce, 2 big shrimp, and an immense amount of crab. Asparagus was okay but on the crunchy side, and included in greater quantity than I desired. And, an included Baked Potato was served with butter and chives as requested, and artfully prepared. Diane also enjoyed her Trout Almondine with Lemon Butter Sauce and Baked Potato with bacon and cheese. It was a dining experience memorable for its deliciousness but also for the rushed presentation. XXXX-1/2 stars overall!

Had dinner here last night. Food was good. Prices are decent. Staff is attentive. The view is cool. Liked it enough that decided to come back and try out their brunch. Both experiences were good. I'll make sure to visit this place again when I'm in town.

Have eaten here several times and always a great experience with great food. The setting is very nice and always cool. The servers are professional and tentative. The best part of course is your view. Make sure you get a window seat as the view is nice right at London bridge. I had the steak Benedict that was very good but could have seasoned the meat as it was a good cut of beef but just bland. Very classy atmosphere.

We ate today at this restaurant along with my 2 kids 9 & 10. My daughter ordered fish and chips and my son ordered chicken tenders which are not tender as you can taste it was frozen for a long time. We also ordered salad to share with anchovies on the side for my friend. First they served water without any straw. The food came after 20 minutes . The anchovies were mixed with the salad which I couldn't eat anymore. The fish and chips had smell, hard, and tasted really bad . My daughter ate the hard chicken tender instead. I approached the waitress and she took off the charge of around $6. Then 10 minutes later the manager came to the table and gave my son the sundae icecream which was included in kids meal they ordered . she told us in a loud voice that she cannot give icecream to my daughter as she took off the fish and chip from the bill then she took off without even apologizing .My daughter almost cried. I stood up from our table and ran over to the manager. I told her that what she told us broke the heart of my daughter . She responded that she didn't tell that to my daughter but to me. Wow! She told all of us in our table. She also said that she took it off even a a larger portion was already eaten. If it's a larger portion was eaten as this rude manager was claiming , why my son had to share his food? The manager Emily was very rude , no heart, inconsiderate. We wondered how in the world she became a manager in the world of customer service . She's very arrogant, proud , short . I asked the owner number but the waitress came back to us that only Emily could give it to us. Wow! I will not ask that arrogant manager at all. I hope the owner can read this and reply back to me.

One of the worst meals ever. I ordered the tournedos oscar and the crab was horrible...they completely left off the shrimp that was supposed to be included. The soup tasted like something from a nasty diner. The salad was pathetic . My husband ordered the garlic crusted halibut and it was inedible. Couldn't believe the prices for such terrible food. Do not eat here.....it is really horrible!!!!!

Went here for dinner on Friday night. Ordered the blackened salmon special with crab cake and veggies. The dish was ok, nothing memorable. I guess my issue was the veggies looked and tasted like the same mix that you buy in the frozen section of the grocery store and make at home. Asparagus served under the salmon was good though. Great service. Went to their sister restaurant, Barley Brothers, last Summer and liked the food there better. Good for Havasu standards, not LA.

Oh Shugrues, how I love you. Your food is always good and drinks are almost always poured perfectly and are so delicious. You are our favorite date night spot in Havasu. Crab cakes are yummy, filet and lobster are fantastic. Great salad and dressing and yummy house bread. If you've had a really bad day, go to Shugrues and order a Mai Tai. It will make you forget all your worries and take you to a wonderful place. Strong but perfecto! Keep up the good work Shugrues!

It was a hot day, dining while overlooking the water with all the twenty somethings turning pink in overloaded boats while cruising the channel. We were sipping Champagne in air conditioning. We started with Oysters Rockefeller, classically prepared, that were very good but a little small. Our entrees included prime rib, teriyaki steak and Tournedos Oscar (medallions of beef tenderloin served on toast points with grilled shrimp, lump crab, fresh asparagus and Béarnaise sauce). All were excellent and prepared to the correct doneness. Mmmmmm. The coconut cream pie was excellent with a sort of meringue frosting. It is a nicer restaurant but there doesn't seem to be a dress code. Awesome service and terrific food.

Rushed waiter. Good food. Our waiter tried to be friendly but she was very rushed and busy. The hostesses were friendly though I'm not sure why there were 3 of them; seems like one of them could have helped out waitressing so our waiter didn't seem like she was overwhelmed. We got the crab dip with pita bread which was delicious.

Good service, not the most healthy food. Wish id realized the chicken would be doused in sauce and had gotten the sauce on the side. The steak was simple and good. Very generous portions, perhaps too generous. Nice view of the London Bridge if your seat was facing in that direction, and especially in a seat by the window, so make a rezzie if you can plan it in advance.

This has to be the best place to eat in Havasu! Note to self -Make a reservation and don't forget to ask to sit in Kevin's area. The food is delicious and Kevin takes it over the top. We were in Havasu for my mother-in-laws Birthday ,we just happen to share the same bday(lucky me). My MIL happens to be an amazing cook but no one felt like washing dishes. I yelped and consulted TripAdvisor shugs was it . I phoned in and Glenn took the reservation lovely chap! We fancied up and got there 10 minutes before. We were greeted by a crowed snowbird waiting area and a crusty hostess(we will call her Flo) who told me everyone wants to sit by the window and it would be a longer wait! I was okay but my MIL needed a place to sit while we waited because she ha severe arthritis and need asst. to even walk. Can you believe not one of this snow crows offered a seat. We only waited about 7 minutes before we were taken to our seat. We did have a window seat however it was a view of the alley lol..... I guess i didn't specify we wanted a view of the water. It gets better.. We were greeted by Kevin and from there our evening was great. We started with martinis, wine and a couple of beers! I had the special crusted Sword fish with the mango chutney on the side. My meal came with jumbo coconut shrimp delicious. My honey had the filet with salmon cooked to perfection. My MIL had the chicken boudin it was so yummy. I swapped my side salad for the spinach. All in all this place was more than i expected. You must give it a try! Sorry for long review :). Oh the birthday brownie AMA ZING!!! Thanks again Kevin i hope the owners know people come for food and return based on the service!! Question will return Hell Yeah!! 5stars for special K

Im an avid Havasu frequenter as my grandparents (well grandmother now) lives there. I have been going for years... However I usually eat at the "chains" because Havasu is in the middle of no where and I trust the chains over anywhere else... However, due to my somber visit to Havasu this weekend to attend my grandfathers funeral, my husband and I decided to try something different since we didnt have our kids... I pulled up Yelp and looked around for places that had a good rating, even though I wasnt sure I trusted the reviews from the locals... But we chose Shugrues and BOY OH BOY was I surprised... Everything from start to finish was fabulous... We started with the Crab Artichoke Dip... it was SO good... so good.... We then got our dinner salads and their bread and *butter*.... The butter blend was AMAZING... so good and FRESH... I ordered the Tournedos Oscar which was fabulous... My steaks were cooked perfect and the Bernaise and shrimp on top were OH SO GOOD.... However, even though I loved my meal it was my hubbys that I wished I would have ordered!!! He ordered the Rack of Lamband it was FANTASTIC.... I really liked the gravey like sauce that came with it... It was really outstanding.... Our server was a nice older man who knew his job well. Very nice, on top of everything, and friendly... Couldnt believe that Havasu had this tiny little gem!!!! I know where I will be having dinner again next time we go out there....

The wait staff is amazing and the food even better Try the Seared Ahi. We had a window view... Amazing. The fresh sour dough bread and garlic herb butter just whetted your appetite for the amazing food that followed. Our waiter was polite, attentive and funny. He made my whole experience memorable. This is definitely going to be one of my go to spots here in LHC. Went for my birthday and at the end of our meal they brought me brownies covered in hot fudge with ice cream and a candle. AMAZING service. You won't be disappointed at Shagrue's

The service is quick and the drinks are decent, but oh my God, the food is just terrible. Boyfriend got the steak and I chose the chicken piccata. The steak was completely unseasoned, and the piccata was honestly one of the worst meals I have ever had in my entire life. Was the cook just having an off night? Was it a substitute? Maybe. I get that every place has its ups and downs, but this was honestly one of the WORST meals I have ever paid for at a restaurant. Its disgusting presentation looked like the kind of meal you'd see on Restaurant Impossible or some equally slap-stick reality food network restaurant saving television show. If your food standards are so-so, go for it. If not, hit the happy hour and leave for a better food joint. This will not cut it.

Get there when they open at 4:40 and you are guaranteed to get a great table. The food was good and my son had a great time looking at the window and watching the boats go under London Bridge. The service staff was very attentive and on top of things.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner at Shugrue's in the downstairs Bridgeview room, I was very disappointed, the dressing was very dry and so was the turkey, I chose the dark meat because it is usually the most moist and it also was dry. We ate on the patio and the service was slow just getting drinks. We have had the same buffet in past years and it has always been much better.

Funny thing is that despite growing up in Havasu, my family rarely came to Shugrue's. Now that I live in Phoenix, every time my husband and I visit Havasu, we have to have dinner at Shugrue's. We've been here several times by ourselves, but usually we take family. The menu is static, but luckily they have nightly specials. For a while, all we ordered were bar steaks - which is a steak cut up and cooked with mushrooms and onions then served with crostini. I think we were addicted to these for a while! More recently, we had their ribeye and it was amazing! Super tender and juicy, it was cooked perfectly to medium rare. Also, their soups are amazing and rotate -creamy asparagus and French onion being the two I really enjoyed. For dessert, my favorite is the blueberry sour cream pie. Oh. My. God. This was to die for! It was super creamy with tart blueberries... Oh man, I tried to recreate this at home and came super close to the deliciousness that is this pie. Their other desserts are really good as well, but definitely try this if available! We've also been here for the Mother's Day Brunch, which is fantastic and my favorite place for Mother's Day. There are stations filled with blintz, lamb, lobster, all the breakfast fixings, an omelet bar and a dessert station. So, so good. Can't wait to come back!

What can be said about this elegant dining destination? My daughter and I came a few months ago for apps in the bar. Then, last night, I had a date night here for dinner. Awesome waterfront view, Christmas lights on the London Bridge, and the most mouthwatering "Surf & Turf" dinner! Who even needed a knife? FaBU, I tell you. xoxoxo

To start with .... their bread and garlic herb butter they serve is out of this world fantastic. I know ... you're thinking it's just bread and butter ... but their bread and butter is melt in your mouth yumminess. My companions all ordered steak which was cooked to their preference... and came out juicy and flavorful... not mushy or tough like some steaks can be at some places. I ordered chicken (I know... again you're thinking ... it's just chicken, so what?) ... it was juicy and it was a HUGE portion.... I think they gave 3 chicken breasts... there was that much chicken on my plate. It could have easily been shared with 3 people. We will definitely going back the next time we are in Havasu.

Great view of London Bridge and waterway. We had a nice time here and really enjoyed our meal. We were told this is the finest dining in Lake Havasu City so I was unpleasantly surprised to be greeted with loud football playing on multiple screens in the bar during our pre dinner drink. Is this a sports bar or a restaurant? We were seated at a window view table as far as possible from the cacophony of games and dined. The French onion soup was delicious with perfectly Carmelized onions. The steak lollipop appetizers were so good that we decided to go meat with our shared entree. The rack of lamb did not disappoint. The light sauce was perfect and flavorful. We had the twice baked potato and steamed broccoli as our sides. The latter was cooked perfectly but boring alone. The sauce on the plate as well as that yummy garlic butter with the bread kicked it up a notch. Pros: View , food, ability to pay a split fee for the entree, wine prices, value, service Cons: Loud TV permeating throughout establishment, bartender dressed in football jersey, salad subpar.

Boyfriend and I went on a saturday around 6ish, maybe almost 7 pm and were seated right away. Our server was very nice, I'd say he was above and beyond without being overly hovering. Food was very good. We both had the shrimp Alfredo linguini, it came with spinach and mushrooms. Also with garlic toast, plus the bread served at the beginning of the meal with amazing garlic spread! Drink from the bar was pricey but well worth it's amazing taste, and wasn't lacking in liquor or flavor. Wish I had had room for dessert! The price for 2 meals and one mixed drink was very fair considering it was a cozy environment, great service, very delicious meal... I'll be coming back again to try something new, and have the fountain of youth martini again!

My dad and I come during lunch when I am in town visiting. We always have great customer service! Catherine is a great bartender/server! Their lavosh is to DIE FOR! Yumm yumm yumm!

The service was par excellent. Dinner was great and Glen put on a show at the table while preparing dessert that made the Bananas Foster even better. We'll definitely be back on our next trip.

This is usually one of the better place in Havasu. Great view of the bridge and the channel. The food is usually good - no longer great but, good. We recently ate here and I ordered the spring green and the tempura shrimp, the shrimp were good but the salad was wilted and had brown spots... ugh! I wont normally send food back I can usually gut it out but this was pretty bad. The server we had was also terrible, seemed annoyed we were there at all and the food took forever to come out. It would be great it management put an end to letting people in at dinner time in their swimwear as well. Havasu has enough dive places that cater to the drunk weekenders. We will go back but it is defiantly slipping. :(

Good eats, friendly staff. Did I mention the friendly staff?! Nice ambiance and reasonably priced. I'd eat here again. I had the Cod 'martini baked' and it was probably the best cod I've ever had. Delicious french onion soup. The only thing I didn't devour was the cole-slaw - but that's because I hate mayo.

Service was great food was very good. Would definitly go back. enjoyed the window view of the bridge and water. The only bad part was the very unhappy hostess. Thought maybe I caught her at a bad moment when I made the reservation but she was worse when we arrived and she seated us. Thank goodness for our wonderful waitress and the very nice busboy.

Over priced and over rated. Shugrues has been a Havasu landmark for years and years. It has a great view of the London Bridge and it used to be my go to place for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. However the last couple of times I have gone (including last Monday) I have been so disappointed I am contemplating giving up on the place. The service was pretty good, but that is where the compliments end... Our food arrived cold and when sent back arrived cold again. Even after the second return, no accommodation was offered beyond "I am so sorry" from our waitress. The prices have gotten so out of hand that the value is no longer there. Unfortunately, I think Barley Bros. is now a much nicer place to eat.....

    (2)
  • Chad S.

We tried going to Barley, but the wait was too long so we went to Shugrue's instead (I realize they're the same owners). The food is "so so" but I think it certainly didn't warrant the price. The service was less than desirable as well.

Yet another time I wish Yelp allowed me to put in half stars. 4.5 for me. So, there I was in Lake Havasu City. Just checked into a fantastic hotel but Havasu in the off season is quiet. I figured all of the places to eat would be touristy. Shugrue's was listed as the top place on Yelp and lucky me was right next to my hotel. I walked in not expecting much and almost stayed another day to eat here again. All of the servers rocked. I think my main server was named Jim but he greeted me like he knew me for years. I drink a lot (I mean a lot of soda) and the runner stuck a carafe of soda on the table. Some might consider this lazy, I consider this freaking brilliant! The last this runner was is lazy! I read reviews about the prime rib so I ordered it. I still sometimes think back to that prime rib. It was cooked perfectly and was wonderfully tasty and tender. I paired it up with a brie stuffed bread crusted shrimp. Oh yeah! The bread and garlic butter. I read reviews and thought, really that good? Yes! It was great. I would love to talk about dessert, but, I was way too stuffed to even think about it. This is a quiet quaint restaurant (at least in the off season) but can see how the bar could get noisy in the height of the season. And lastly. Expensive? Maybe in Havasu City, but, I found the food very affordable. I can only hope I get hired to work out here again. I would head here again and again. I might not take the time to discover anywhere else to eat for dinner. A rarity for this nomadic traveler.

Tasty food, great drink deals, and sincere service! *i posted picts* THE ORDER: APPETIZERS: Escargot....4 stars. Yummy, but pretty typical sauce...very garlicky and delicious. Came mixed with luscious mushrooms and tender ercargot. Nice portion size, too! Chilled Prawn Cocktail....4 stars. Delicious, large shrimp. The cocktail sauce had the perfect amount of horseradish (and by this, I mean a LOT!). This came with 4 jumbo prawns.... Oysters on the 1/2 Shell. I honestly didnt try these, but the table seemed to really enjoy them. They were BIG , too!! ENTREE(S): Blackened Salmon w blackening seasoning w steamed vegetables....3 stars. The salmon itself was super juicy. I asked for Med Rare, but I think it was more of a solid medium. But , it was very flakey and moist. However, the blackening seasoning kind of killed it. All this fish needed was lemon juice; I should have forgone blackening it. Prime Rib....4 stars. This is what the hubby ordered and it was very tasty! Thick, juicy, side of horseradish...yum! THE DRINKS: To start, they stuff their own olives w blue cheese, so if like a "well-mannered" DIrty Martini, you'd probably enjoy this :) Also, they have carafes of house wine for $21.00! Additionally, they have a pretty solid wine selection by the bottle and glass. THE SERVICE: Overall, helpful and friendly while nailing the steps of service! ENJOY! xo- andrea

In my four day vacation in Havasu, I ate here four times! The steaks are AWESOME! They have a cantalope martini that really hits the spot after a hot day out on the water. Service was impeccable; I would drive here again just for the food! And its five hours from my house!

Took wife and family for Christmas Eve dinner. Had reservations for 7:30pm. Arrived at 7:20 and was told it would be about 20-minutes. We actually got seated at 7:55pm. Waitress was a little curt at first but as the time continued she seemed to warm a little. We all had fish dinners. They were served at the appropriate temperature and the food was plentiful. Appetizer calamari we ordered was on the "minimal" side at best but delicious. Had our usual vodka and the prices seemed a little steep. Overall the atmosphere was pleasant and not too noisy. We were seated in the rear of the restaurant even though there were plenty of seats upfront to view the outdoors. Bathrooms were clean which was a plus. The prices for the appetizer was a little steep for the amount of food delivered. The entrees seemed to be priced equal to that of a "linen tablecloth" restaurant even though we did not have the linen table cloth. I would give them nothing more than a four star.

I fell in love with this city in one night. We had one hell of a great evening at this eatery. It all started with a loaf of bread and garlic butter that melts in ur mouth. Steak and pork loin with shrimp daily special was fantastic. Our server Tina made the dining experience. SHe was a great tour guide to all things Shugrues. Thanks Tina for a cool evening

This restaurant overlooks the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City. The views are wonderful, and the service and food match. Very glad to have had a dinner here. Calamari appetizer was very good. Salad crisp and the French onion soup very good. Steak dinner cooked to perfection. Pricing very good. We'll visit again.

Party of seven .... all visitors from Canada - had excellent service from Colby .... the food was fantastic - whatever wasn't right (a couple of minor glitches) was made right and we were all made to feel like our business was appreciated. Food was prepared to perfection (appies and main courses) and served with a flair. It was a 10 out of 10 dining experience. mike

Love this place with window seating overlooking the beautiful London Bridge on Lake Havasu! Service is awesome. Food is SO delicious and AH-mazing. It is a great place for lunch and dinner. We celebrate birthdays, mother's days and business meals here. It would be good to have a dress code here. It's not the kind of place you want to have a business meeting spending over a hundred while sitting next to a group in their bathing suits. Cover ups would be appreciated. Other than that, it is a GR8 place!

If you are looking view of the area and a friendly bar environment then this is a good place to stop. We came in for a drink and appetizers - service was super slow and waitress did not see to focus on those of us who did not order full meals ( it was 330 on a Friday afternoon. Appetizer was good but pricey for the amount of food even at half off. Between the slow service and price we won't be back

Aside from the lake itself, this place was the most memmorable thing about my trip through Lake Havasu City. I'm a food snob and can't complain about anything. Food was 8.5/10, service was an 8, and the ambiance was a 10 (I almost never give 10s on food). I would give this place a 4.5 star, but if I have to pick, I'll give it a 5. I started with hot tea and a mozzerela and tomato salad, which was delicious. It was served on a bed of greens with a medium bodied balsamic and olive oil dressing that didn't overpower the mozzerela. The french bread was a bit soft, but the butter with it was rich and flavorful. I had the rack of lamb, medium, ant it was cooked perfectly. There was a nice crust and mint jelly that made for a perfect texture. It was served with broccoli, asparagus, and a stuffed tomato. There was probably a bit too much fat added to the dish, but altogether it was very good. I washed the lamb down with their only Zin, which was perfect. The waitress was professional and very helpful with my tourist questions. The restaurant overloods the water and faces the London Bridge (their claim to fame), and the whole place was cozy with a touch of modern that I enjoyed. All in all, I was underimpressed with Lake Havasu City's amenities, and Shugrue's was definitely the exception.

Food and service is always great. A little pricey if you take the whole family. But by far better than alot of places I have eaten. Would recommend it to friend and visitors, just make sure you bring some extra cash..

I felt compelled to leave this place a good review after my experience at their Thanksgiving buffet. I cannot eat gluten because I have Celiac disease, and unfortunately none of the items at the Thanksgiving feast were gluten free except for the salad. Upon discovering this, the staff offered to make me a halibut in the upstairs kitchen with a gluten free lemon butter sauce. I gladly accepted, and it was delicious. They came back to the table several times to check up on me. Great service, great food, and very accommodating to food intolerances/allergies.

After an afternoon of jetskiing, we asked the couple we rented from for a nice restaurant Sat night and they told us we had to go here. This was the BEST meal we had in LHC the weekend we were there. How can you beat 1/2 price appetizer happy hour on a Saturday nonetheless?? You grill a perfect black n' blue filet mignon for me!! I'm still salivating over the meal we had!!!! Everything we had from the shrimp and crab bisque to the ahi tuna was top notch. The view of London Bridge w/ the boats passing by was a great setting to a great day. We're going back for sure...to make more time for happy hour!!

My daughter and I tried Shugrue's during our Lake Havasu vacation after reading Yelp reviews, and once again, y'all did not disappoint. We came in for lunch on a weekend and were able to get a table overlooking the lake. Service was really fantastic -- our server was attentive and answered our questions without being annoying. Lunch was reasonably priced considering the service and atmosphere, and my chicken portabello sandwich was really excellent, as was the soup of the day. At the time we visited, it was mostly an older-ladies-doing-lunch crowd, not too raucous ... it felt like a cool and peaceful oasis after a day on the lake.

We come here from out of town to vacation quite frequently, so naturally we tend to eat nearly every meal out. This place is one of our regular go to eateries, granted there's not a HUGE selection in the city. The place is always packed, the service is always great. The food? It's pretty darn good too. Why else would we keep going back? It has an awesome view of the lake and the real London Bridge. If you look closely enough you can see the numbers they marked on them so they could make sure the bricks were put back in the right order.

For us locals, this is, by far, the best place to eat in Lake Havasu. It's a little more expensive but the service is always exceptional and the food is consistant. It can get a little noisy, depending on the crowd so if you want a quiet table, ask for a back booth!

There are only two amazing restaurants in Havasu this is one of them. The food is tasty and the service is spectacular. Bear in mind that you are in a resort/vacation town so you are paying those rates. With that in mind, the price for your meal is not over priced. I usually have the NY steak and have yet to be disappointed. The girlfriend usually has the Prime Rib and she has never complained. To top it all off the sourdough bread is top notch and the drinks are strong. You can't go wrong with Shegrue's and if you don't like what they have their sister restaurant is next door and you can get anything off of that menu.

My family owns a time share at the London Bridge resort, and this is always our favorite place to go! This is the first time I've been in about 6 years or so, and was very happy to find it still kept it's memorable reputation. I ordered the Tournedos Oscar, and oh man, probably one of the best dinner's I have ever had!! Yes, this place is expensive, but with great service and amazing food, I would 100% recommend checking it out!

  • Theary S.

Ambiance is good for night time, so I give it one star. I give it another star for the service, although the server is super cheesy. I do understand you have to be cheesy in a very touristy area. As for the food, over priced and not that great of quality. My rice was old, and I felt horrible that night and the next day. Big mistake not having eaten all day. I tried to contact someone via their web, and they did nothing to contact me back, so this is why overall they have 2 star. I am surprised by their other reviews.

Was in Lake Havasu for a lazy day on the water and didn't expect much from the local restaurant. Was totally surprised! I had a Steak and it was cooked perfectly - and came with a yummy stuffed potato. We had a table overlooking the water and London Bridge and had excellent service.

The waitress forgot to put our appetizer in before our meals. I had the blackened scallops, which were completely over seasoned and salty. To be fair, the waitress told me they were going to be spicy and salty when I ordered, but I thought I would at least be able to taste some scallop....Don't think I'll go here again and put down $120 for that meal.

Great food and wait staff. I love their menu. My husband's favorite is their salad (I don't remember the name but it has apples and nuts in it). I love their prime rib and steaks. The place is very cozy! This is one place I love stopping in whenever I'm in the area. I wish they had another restaurant like Shugure's in Hawaii! This place rocks!

Went here for lunch on a Wednesday with my friend and her mom (who both live in Havasu and dine there weekly). We were seated right away and a table overlooking the water and London Bridge. Even though our waitress was super busy (I think someone called in sick), she was wonderful! She refilled our drinks and checked back with us several times. I'm really excited to experience Shugrue's at night. I'm going to a wedding there next month and this was a great prequel :-)

Ok i am kinda gonna cheat here, I used to work here and love the food. Every one that works here is super friendly, and the cooks are extremely talented (just don't let them hear you said it) plus after the remodel the place looks great. This is the best LHC date night.

We don't live in Havasu, but we go there fairly often. Shugrue's overlooks the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, AZ. It's a lovely spot, with a nice view of the bay and the bridge from the restaurant and the bar. It's over the bridge, on the island in the Island Fashion Mall. The food and service at Shugrues are top notch, a really good dinner house. I had the top sirloin, my wife had the salmon. I have to say you can't buy meat of that grade at the market. This is restaurant grade meat. Really good. Cooked perfectly, I had the peppercorn (au pove) sauce which is free! I recommend it. Asparagus to die for. I had the half spring salad with a spicy balsamic vinaigrette, which is just outstanding and a great deal at about $5. The salad has walnuts and dried cranberries. Delicious. The service is good, the food is better than good. They had participated in the Restaurant.com dining certificate program, so even though Shugrue's is pricey we were enjoying it and we could order things we wouldn't normally order, spend extra, go out more often. Hard to get out of there without spending at least $75 so the $25 certificates really helped. Unfortunately they stopped participating so now we have to pay full price or go for the early bird "sunset suppers". We'll still go just not as often as we had with the great certificates. I recommend Shugrue's if you want a *nice* meal and a *nice* night out. Make reservations before you go. One other option, at lunch Shugrue's is pretty reasonable, many great sandwiches and stuff for $9 up to $12. And you get the great service and the great views at a bargain at lunch. I recommend Shugrue's for lunch. Outstanding. They do have coupons on their website for lunch, so check that out.

Our last visit was mothers day, with said woman in tow and both boys (4 and 13). The menue had been prepared specifically for mothers day, I believe it was around 2 in the afternoon when we arrived and one of my boys was still able to order eggs Benedict. Both my wife and I ordered the chicken Caesar. Both salads were poorly assembled. In my view, an entrée salad with a cooked addition (be it chicken or beef or whatever) should arrive with the greens crisp and well chilled, and the balance warmed to at least 160. In this case, it seems as though the whole dish was placed just beyond reach of a warming lamp. It was all the same temperature, lukewarm, sort've schmarmy. Dressing was bland, pretty lifeless. Our server was faultless, it quickly became apparent she was working without an expeditor, girl ran her ass off and smiled the whole time, what a gem. I can't imagine having a restaurant such as this run without an expeditor, who manages the food out, who verifies the orders, who manages quality?? Perhaps this is why my salad was so miserable. In fairness, I have had better experiences here, there's a kabob on the appetizer menue that is awesome and the people are always positive and professional. It seems to suffer from much the same malady as so many restaurants in Havasu, poor management. I don't believe for a minute that Shugrues lacks the ability to turn consistantly good food (surely they could have placed my salad in a blast cooler prior to adding the chicken), maybe it's just a plain lack of knowledge. I dunno, if you want a damn good chicken caesar, freshly made dressing.....come to my house.

Great view, Great Food, Great Service. In all the years I have been coming to Havasu, we always have to eat here at least once during our trip. I love this resturant. I even came to a wedding reception here once(a crowd of about 150) & the food was perfect for that too!!! We love Shugrue's!!!!

A friend had been raving about this place since last year. Since, we're at Havasu every weekend, it was about time we tried out this restaurant. Usually, we stay across the lake at the Havasu Landing RV Park Resort on the CA side and have to slave over dinner after jetskiing the whole day. But this particular weekend getaway was our anniversary, so we definitely were not in the mood to cook. Instead, we jumped on the ferry and headed towards AZ. Initially, our plan was to go to Martini Bay at London Bridge resort, but since the boat docked right in front of Shugrue's, we decided to heed our friend's advice. We thought we were going to walk into some boisterous, Irish pub, but were pleasantly surprised. It was completely opposite. The atmosphere was modern, quiet, and warm. We were seated right next to the window overlooking the Channel and could see boats cruising down below. The menu selections were reasonably priced and sounded savory. We ordered a chicken marsala type dish with asparagus and salmon stuffed with crab. First, they served the clam chowder which was included as one of the sides. The soup was abundant with clams to the last drop and the flavor was muah! Then they brought out the house sourdough bread with herb garlic butter. OMG, never knew sourdough could taste so good. Soft, warm and moist , not your typical tough, cold and dry one. It was presented on a cute cutting board which we thought was pretty original. If they take pride in their bread, then the fare has to be delicious. Our assumptions were correct and we were not disappointed. The portions were humongous as well. For 2 entrees and ice teas, the check came out to less than 50 bucks. A worthwhile and memorable experience indeed. 5 stars!

Can't really go wrong with a meal at the Shugrue's family of restaurants. While Barley Brothers is more along my line as this place specializes in Seafood and that's not really my fave... The Chicken Fettucine Alfredo is delicious. I'm sure the fish is good too - but I just don't like fish. A little pricier too than Barley Brothers - but nice for special occasions. I miss the fish tanks and preferred the interior before the remodel. It does look pretty, but I just like restaurants to be more compartmentalized - not just one big dining room.
